About Javier

Javier Cano was born in Chinandega, Nicaragua, Central America. His immediate family immigrated to the United States when he was four years old. The family moved to Miami in August 1972 (just in time for the "Perfect Season" by the Miami Dolphins!).

Javier has the good fortune of a diverse professional career primarily in the private sector. He has worked in legal communications and publishing (The Florida Bar), telecommunications, advertising and marketing (AT&T, Miami Herald Publishing Company, ITP Editorial), medical (Metagenics & Biotics Research), and geo-demographic business intelligence (Geoscape). However, professionally he is most proud of having worked for Congressman Mario Diaz-Balart as his Press Secretary in the 103rd Congress.

Javier lives in Miami and has two children. He loves great food, reading, sports and the great outdoors that South Florida offers.
